Meet the Characters of I Know What UFO Did Last Summer

We’re getting closer to the release of I Know What UFO Did Last Summer, so I thought I’d offer a bit of a preview by introducing the main characters! Here’s a look at our heroes, including the code names that Marv gives them:

Marv (Code name: Gold Leader)

Ever since he stumbled upon the book How to Survive an Alien Invasion: Your Guidebook to an Inevitable Future, Marv has been obsessed with aliens. He thinks just about everything is part of an alien conspiracy. This has resulted in a lot of phone calls to the National Guard and a lot of disappointment when nobody believes him. From wilderness survival training in the woods to lining the inside of a baseball hat with tinfoil to keep aliens from reading his mind, Marv takes extraterrestrial threats very seriously.

It’s no surprise, then, that after he and his friends discover a mysterious craft in the woods and are pursued by its suited pilot, that Marv is convinced aliens are involved. He’s not too sure about his new next-door neighbor Nora either…

Jace (Code name: Baller One)

Marv’s best friend. Jace has lived across the street from Marv for years. Even though he doesn’t actually believe in aliens, he’s willing to tag along with his friend because he likes camping and can usually convince Marv to play basketball with him once they’re done with alien-related shenanigans. Living outside of town, there aren’t any other kids their age around, so they stick by each other through just about everything.

Jace loves basketball and his favorite team, the Philadelphia 76ers. He’s almost as obsessed with basketball as Marv is with aliens—though no one can ever be quite that obsessed about anything.

Nora (Code name: Space Cadet)

Much to her chagrin, Nora and her father just moved next door to Marv, where he almost immediately accused them of being alien invaders. Nora and her father actually just moved to Delaware from Iowa. She’s not happy to have left her friends behind. She’s even less happy about having a total “weirdo” for a neighbor. It doesn’t take long for her to get dragged along with Marv and Jace.

Nora doesn’t know why her father made them move so suddenly, but it’s obvious that there is more going on than meets the eye…

Marv and his friends don’t know what they’re getting into, but you won’t have to wait long to find out! I Know What UFO Did Last Summer releases on March 11, and is available for preorder at Amazon, Bookshop, and Barnes & Noble.
